My favorite female characters

We all have those characters we read about that makes our heart a little bit warmer and we feel like they can actually be our friends. Today, I want to talk about ten female characters, that I feel a little extra for. As usually, without any particular order.

1. Helene Aquilla - An Ember In The Ashes

"My song is not one of peace. It is one of failure and pain. My song is one of battle and blood, death and power. It is not the song of Helene Aquilla. It is the song of the Blood Shrike"

Is anyone really surprised that I put someone here from An Ember In The Ashes here? But How can I not? Helene Aquilla, also known as The Blood Shrike, is one badass broad. Damn girl! In the first book I didn't care that much for here, cause she loved Elias and I wanted him with Laia. Aaaaanyway, in the second book she really grew on me and I saw her in a new light. The strength that she possesses, even after everything that she have gone through is truly remarkable. She has such pride that is almost triumph out the rest. But when she gets to know that pride and the feelings inside her, she really blooms. I can't wait to see where this character goes in the next book in the series.

2. Felicity Montague - The Lady's guide to petticoats and piracy

"You deserve to be here. You deserve to exist. You deserve to take up space in this world of men"

This young lady caught my interest the moment she pretended to read a book about some girly things when she was in fact reading about the human body. Maybe it is because I myself have always loved anatomy, but I loved the idea that this girl in the world at that time, that just long for something and wont let the world - led by men - tell her no. It is so refreshing and nice to see strong female characters that stand up to men and say: I will take up space in this world because I darn well deserves it!

3. Lira - To Kill A Kingdom

"How strange that instead of taking his heart, I'm hoping he takes mine"

Let me present to you: One badass siren with all the power a cool woman should have. Can we first of all take a minute to appreciate that Lira is feared and respected for what she does and who she is rather then if she would be a big brooding man? (Feminist vibes, heck yes!) Lira takes her power and does not wait for anyone to give it to her. And that is why she is on this list.

4. Feyre, Lady of the Nightcourt - A court of series

"No one was my master— but I might be master of everything, if I wished. If I dared"

Feyre was the first character that I read about with PTSD after the horrible things that she went through. I was so fascinated over the fact that her she was, screwed up, real bad, but still strong and true to herself. I guess that made me happy, cause if she was broken and strong, that meant I could too.

5. Emma Cairstairs - The Dark Artifices

"Nobody calls me 'blondie' and keeps their kneecaps"

Enter stage: One sassy, stand-up-for-her-opinion, shadowhunter with a attitude that could break the hardest stone. Darn girl, what she is cool! Here I am, the feminist again, cause I LOVE that she is respected because she is the best, and only because of that. People knows her name cause the things that Shadowhunters do, she does best.

6. Delilah Bard - A Darker Shade Of Magic

"There were a hundred shades between a truth and lie, and she knew them all"

It is like the word badass was invented just to describe one Delilah Bard. With a fast mouth and a even faster hand on a gun or sword, she is as kickass as one can be. We all should have a little of Lilah inside us.

7. Tessa Grey - The Infernal Devices

"Men may be stronger, but it is women who endure"

This lady combines warmth, love and a fierceness that knocks you of your feet. She cares so deeply that the reader can feel it itself. There is not a thing she would not do to protect the ones she love and she just have so much love in her heart and it shows very clearly. A very lovely lady indeed.

8. Hermione Granger - Harry Potter

"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in, They got in on pure talent"

Would this list really be complete without our Hermione? The sassy, out-of-this-world smart, brave girl? I think not.

9. Cress - The Lunar Chronicles

"Do you think it was destiny that brought us together?"

A little awkward, small girl with hair as long as herself enters the series in the third book and she makes me wanna give her tea, a blanket and put on a very happy movie because she deserves everything good in this world.

10. Isabelle Lightwood - The Mortal Instrument

"What's the point in wasting a perfectly good brick wall when you have someone to throw against it, that's what I always say"

Just as the rest of the females on this list, I will bring one more badass to attention. That badass is Isabelle Lightwood. The character development that she goes through through out this series is amazing, stunning even. Hard and soft and complicated, she stands tall.
