End Of Year Survey

Hello my dear readers. I hope you had a lovely holiday and are looking forward to the new year. To end this year, even on the blog, I thought it would be good to look back at my reading year and I will do that by using the survey created by Perpetualpageturner. You can find her here! Enjoy the ride through my year of reading :)

Reading stats!

Number Of Books You Read: I read 58 books this year.

Number of Re-Reads: I only reread three books this year

Genre You Read The Most From: I think it's probably YA

Best of Books

1. Best Book You Read In 2018?

(If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2018 release vs. backlist)

I will make a top three list I think! So the top three is: Queen Of Air And Darkness by Cassandra Clare, Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson and An Ember In The Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir

2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?

l think that has to be Vicious. I haven't been able to get in to it :(

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo. It was so much more than I could ever have imaged, in the absolut best way.

4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

I don't know if that many read it, but the series would be A Darker Shade of Magic. I gifted it to my best friend for Christmas and I hope she will love it!

5. Best series you started in 2018? Best Sequel of 2018? Best Series Ender of 2018?

The Best series that I started got to be Mistborn. Best sequel will have to go to The Lady's Guide To Petticoats And Piracy. Best ender will without a second thought go to A Queen Of Air And Darkness.

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2018?

Brandon Sanderson. I was very late to discover the King of high fantasy, but better late than never, right?

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

I actually read a little bit of thrillers this year, I usually don't do that. One I read was Night Film by Marisha Pessel and that will be the pick for this one.

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

Unputdownable book for this year will be no suprise. I use this book for every question haha. Queen Of Air And Darkness.

9. Book You Read In 2018 That You Would Be MOST Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

Any of the short stories from Cassandra Clare's Ghosts Of The Shadow Market.

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2018?

Ace Of Shades by Amanda Foody or the new covers for An Ember In The Ashes.

11. Most memorable character of 2018?

The first one I am thinking of is Kelsier from Mistborn, so I will go with that.

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2018?

The Witch Doesn't Burn In This One. Women are som kind of magic is one of the few poetry books that makes my heart happy.

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2018?

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Dear Ljeawele. This year I am more then ever aware of our world and the place we women needs to take in it.

14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2018 to finally read?

Mistborn, without a question. I was so intimidated by the sheer length of the books that I was just pushing it up all the time, but I am so happy I read them this year as they turned out to be one of my all time favorites.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2018?

“You deserve to be here. You deserve to exist. You deserve to take up space in this world of men.” - The Layd's Guide To Petticoats And Piratcy By Mackenzi Lee

16.Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2018?

Shortes - The Voicemail Of Magnus Bane - 15 pages. Longest - Queen Of Air And Darkness - 912 pages.

How I did this: Went to my read books on Goodreads and sorted by page number and just looked for what I knew I read this year that was the shortest and longest.

17. Book That Shocked You The Most

(Because of a plot twist, character death, left you hanging with your mouth wide open, etc.)

Ember In The Ashes...The death of one of the characters was really just...wow, I did not expect that...

18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)

(OTP = one true pairing if you aren’t familiar)

Emma and Julian of The Dark Artifices!

19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

Wayne and Wax - Mistborn The Second Generation or Emma and Christina - The Dark Artifices.

20. Favorite Book You Read in 2018 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

A Court Of Frost And Starlight By Sarah J Maas.

21. Best Book You Read In 2018 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure/Bookstagram, Etc.:

The Mistborn Series. It was time to see what the hype was all about and mu best friend really love this books and she has great taste in books, so I just needed to get over the fear of the size of this books, and I did!

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2018?

I always loved Jem, but this year I really just...wow, he is so amazing. So maybe him? I don't really get crushes when I read haha.

23. Best 2018 debut you read?

!o Kill A Kingdom By Alexandra Christo!

To Kill A Kingdom - Alexandra Christo.

24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

Again...Mistborn haha! But I can't help it. It would be criminal to pick another book for this. Brandon Sanderson has away to build his worlds that are unlike anything I have ever seen before!

25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

My Plain Jane or A Lady's Guide To Petticoats And Piracy.

26. Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2018?

Both are endings to a series. A Queen Of Air And Darkness and Hero Of The Ages both made me ugly cry. It was a wild ride.

27. Hidden Gem Of The Year?

Ghost of the Shadow Market. Just because I usually do not like short stories, but really loved these ones.

28. Book That Crushed Your Soul?

Hero Of Ages, without a question.

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2018?

The Witch Dosn't Burn In This One.Just because I don't read poetry, nearly at all.

30. Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?

Oh, so many? haha. I get so darn invested in the books I read, so every time it dosen't go the way I want, I get mad haha!'

Have A Good One!
